Bob Cowan, Managing Director, has over 14 years of experience in retained executive search. He is responsible for managing searches across a variety of industries, with an emphasis in financial services, technology and healthcare. He has conducted searches from the Director to Executive level in the areas of finance, operations, corporate development and sales/marketing. Bob’s clients range from small private companies to Fortune 500 corporations in a variety of industries. In the Financial Services sector, Bob's assignments have been with large, prestigious asset management firms, as well as boutique and fast growing private investment funds, and range from Senior Analyst to Portfolio Manager in fixed income, equity and alternative asset classes such as distressed debt, real estate and private equity. Bob also recruits professionals in the functional areas of marketing, business development, compliance, legal and operations. Prior to joining Stone Murphy Bob participated in the completion of a wide variety of search engagements in various industries. He began his career with two global executive search firms, Korn/Ferry International and Highland Partners (now Heidrick & Struggles). Bob holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Providence College where he served as Captain of the Varsity Hockey Team. After graduation he played professional hockey in Sweden.
