Investment Analyst

Our client, located in Minneapolis , is an investment firm which specializes in distressed debt investing. This position provides an opportunity to work in a global fast-paced, transaction-oriented environment with a focus on investing in distressed debt obligations and originating opportunistic corporate financings.  This position will develop relationships and contacts with appropriate third parties to facilitate the origination, analysis, execution and monitoring of investments.  It will provide exposure to complex structured transactions within a variety of industries and across range of stressed and distressed asset types.   This position will perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of risk and return for purchase and sale of distressed debt, including debt obligations of financially troubled companies and structured finance securities.  It will provide detailed cash flow modeling, valuation and investment return analysis to support the origination of opportunistic financings.  Qualifications include a minimum of five years experience in credit analysis or equity analysis; strong math and accounting abilities with discounted cash flow skills required and statistical modeling experience is required.  Experience with below investment grade securities, leveraged loans, corporate finance transactions, illiquid and quasi-illiquid investments.  An undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or a related field is required.  An advanced degree (MBA, CFA and/or CPA) is a plus.

Head of Business Development and Marketing

Our client is a privately held financial services company located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and focused on providing financial services to businesses.  This position will provide leadership for the high net worth sales and marketing effort and related training activities.  Major challenges for this position include executing a growth strategy, improving productivity, and managing the priorities of the various constituencies.  The Head of Business Development and Marketing is responsible for working as a member of the management team towards the refinement and execution of the strategic plan as it relates to the high net worth marketplace.  This position will manage the sales team to maximize productivity in an effort to support revenue goals and service excellence.  It will evaluate current sales processes, retention programs and services.  This position will also develop the strategies and tactics necessary to ensure that sales objectives are met.  Qualifications include a minimum of 15 years in the financial services industry, preferably with 10 years in asset management or trust sales combined with sales management experience; and a demonstrated track record of personal sales ability and success. Knowledge and/or experience in multiple distribution channels a plus.  A Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is required; an MBA is preferred.

Quantitative Investment Analyst

Our client is an institutional investment management advisor in Minneapolis proving equity management.  This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about investing and possess strong statistical and economic modeling experience and excellent academic achievement, to join a small successful team of professional investors.  Responsibilities include assisting the team in researching and evaluating new potential investments as well as monitoring existing investments and portfolios to maximize returns while reducing portfolio risk.  Build models that will allow for new analytical processes and enhance existing research models.  Qualifications include a minimum of three years experience in economic or statistical modeling preferably in an investment or capital markets environment.  Excellent quantitative modeling and statistical analysis skills are required.  Broad understanding of financial markets, risk management, current economic events and trends.  Strong programming skills are essential.  Familiarity with current statistical and econometric techniques is required.  Strong desire to achieve in the investment business.  Undergraduate degree in economics, mathematics or finance is required; an MBA, MA or CFA is a preferred.
