Fixed Income Quantitative Research Analyst

Investment Associate

Our client, located in Minneapolis, is a partnership which specializes in distressed debt securities investing. This position is responsible for supporting and assisting private investment professionals in the analysis, execution and monitoring of illiquid and quasi-illiquid investments. Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of risk and return for purchase and sale of distressed debt, including portfolios of small balance loans and leases, commercial real estate mortgages, structured finance securities, bonds, bank debt and preferred stock. Qualifications include a minimum of two years experience in credit analysis or investment analysis and a thorough understanding of public and private debt instruments. Solid math and accounting abilities with discounted cash flow and statistical modeling experience required, along with a keen attention to detail. Experience with below investment grade transactions or asset backed transactions is a plus. An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or a related field is required; an MBA and/or CFA is preferred.

Fixed Income Quantitative Research Analyst

Our client, located in the Midwest, is a large financial services organization with over $60 billion in assets. This position reports to the Head of Quantitative Analysis, who in turn reports to the Head of Fixed Income-General Account. This position is responsible for assisting in the overall management of the firm’s fixed income mutual fund and general account investment portfolios, providing analytical and technical support to the investment portfolio analysis and reporting, quantitative investment strategy and general account research and analysis processes. Qualifications include a minimum of two years experience with fixed income and capital markets instruments. Must possess strong quantitative modeling and statistical analysis skills, prior experience with spread sheets, relational databases and report tools, as well as familiarity with Bloomberg and fixed income tools such as Lehman Point/Product, CMS Bondedge or equivalents. Undergraduate degree in finance, economics or mathematics is required; an MBA, MA or CFA is desirable.
